Whether you choose skis, snowshoes or a ride on a traditional "Velogemel", Grindelwald offers winter fun in all shapes and sizes. The glacier village is embedded in a breathtaking Alpine landscape at the foot of the Eiger north face. There is a wide variety of winter-sport activities to discover. The ski area Grindelwald-Wengen lie right on your doorstep. In addition to the slopes, there are numerous sledging routes providing snowy fun for young and old alike, including the longest sledge run in the Alps: the "Big Pintenfritz", which covers more than 15 kilometres from Faulhorn to Grindewald. Apart from the adrenaline rushes, there are lovely snowshoe and winter hiking trails to be enjoyed through the snow-filled winter wonderland. In the evening, aprés-ski bars and restaurants are perfect for cosy socialising. Fantastic events, such as the annual World Snow Festival and Velogemel World Championships, provide highlights during the winter season.
